DENVER – The MSU Denver men's soccer team got off to a slow start to its much-delayed season, dropping a 3-0 decision at CSU-Pueblo in a non-conference matchup.
"This game was a good learning experience for our team," first-year coach
Nick Kirchhof said. "We came out flat, didn't do the little things, and were punished for it early and often."
CSU-Pueblo built advantages of 15-7 in shots, 7-2 in shots on goal, and 10-1 in corner kicks.
Sam Funnell and
Elijah Fenton each had a shot for MSU Denver.
The Roadrunners are back in action March 21 in a 1:30 p.m. home game against South Dakota Mines.
"We are going to keep working hard, and we will learn from our mistakes," Kirchhof said. "I'm looking forward to this week's training and our RMAC opener."
