@MSUDenverVB: Behind Hladky's Career Night, No. 3 Roadrunners Sweep UCCS

Hladky has 19 kills on .581 hitting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rylee Hladky had a career-high 19 kills on career-best .581 hitting, and she only needed three sets to do it as No. 3 MSU Denver cruised to a 3-0 victory Friday night at UCCS.

Hladky had just one error on 31 swings, and she added back-to-back service aces to close out the first set in the 25-22, 25-22, 25-18 victory, the Roadrunners' seventh straight.

"Rylee had a great night," MSU Denver coach Jenny Glenn said. "She had a good matchup, and our setters did a good job getting the ball to her where she could take advantage of that matchup, and she stayed aggressive. We've been working on that, and she responded well to that."

Avaline Lai added 10 kills and hit .475, Riley Anderson and Alexis Benda each had eight kills, and Ember Canty had five kills and five blocks (two solo) as the Roadrunners cruised.

"We passed pretty well and handled their serve well," Glenn said. "We did a nice job in serve and pass and got them out of system. We served aggressively and got some aces and stabilized our passing lanes."

MSU Denver hit .355 and had advantages of 7-1 in service aces and 8-2 in blocks.

Ashlyn Cianciulli had team bests of 10 digs and three service aces, while Amela Qershia set a team-best 25 assists.

"They played us feisty but we made plays when needed to make plays and got it done in three," Glenn said.

MSU Denver (3-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) wraps up the weekend road trip Saturday with a 4 p.m. match at CSU-Pueblo.

UCCS dropped to 3-7 and 0-3.
