CHADRON, Neb. – Rylee Hladky slammed a season-high 18 kills as No. 2 MSU Denver weathered a mid-match challenge from Chadron State posted a 3-0 victory Friday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference volleyball.
 
The win was MSU Denver's seventh straight sweep and its 31^st straight regular-season RMAC win – nine short of the league record.
 
The Roadrunners, 16-1 overall and 9-0 RMAC, have won 27 of 28 sets in league play this season. With 22 straight set wins, MSU Denver has its longest streak since winning 25 straight sets from Sept. 29 through Oct. 20, 2001.
 
Hladky set the tone for her special night in the first set, when she had eight kills on .727 hitting (no errors, 11 attacks).
 
Ashlyn Cianciulli had 14 digs and three service aces and Delaney Eckhardt set 23 assists as MSU Denver posted its best start to a season since going 18-1 to open the 1989 campaign.
 
After winning the opener 25-16, MSU Denver held off a rally from Chadron State to win the second set 27-25, then finished it off with a 25-17 third set.
 
"Chadron State played an aggressive match tonight and made some big plays," MSU Denver coach Jenny Glenn said. "I continue to be proud of the resilience of this team and our ability to find ways to win in tough situations." 
 
A tough situation is in store Saturday as the Roadrunners travel to quaint Volk Gymnasium – No. 20 Colorado School of Mines' old facility – for a 5 p.m. match Saturday.
