GUNNISON, Colo. – A third-quarter dry spell knocked MSU Denver off track Saturday in a 57-49 loss to Texas Woman's.
After emerging from halftime with a 28-26 lead, the Roadrunners made just 2 of 16 shots from the field and scored only five points while falling into a 45-33 deficit.

Tanya Haave said. "Once again we competed, but we need to clean up our execution on both ends of the floor. We are still learning how to play with each other, so it was a good weekend of experience that we will learn a lot from."
The Roadrunners opened the season with an 80-75 loss to Angelo State (Texas) on Friday.
MSU Denver outscored Texas Woman's 16-12 in the fourth quarter, but still managed to hit just 21.4 percent of their shots in the fourth quarter (3 of 14), making the Roadrunners 5 of 30 (16.7 percent) from the field in the second half.
Leilah Vigil led the Roadrunners with 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals in only 24 minutes, while Kendra Parra chipped in with 10 points and true freshman Brooklynn Jones added nine while hitting 3 of 7 from 3-point range.
MSU Denver is back in action Friday in Salt Lake City, facing Central Washington a 3 p.m.
