LIBERTY, Mo. – The MSU Denver men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up their four-duals-in-four-places-in-four-days road trip Monday and both posted easy 4-0 victories at William Jewell (Mo.).
Jeanloup Auzias finished off victories in both singles and doubles for the men, while
Isabel Heras and
Lilly Stienemeier won twice for the women.
Auzias teamed with
Dayton Fisher for a 6-4 No. 3 doubles win, and then was a 6-4, 6-4 victor in No. 2 singles. Auzias improved to 7-4 in singles and 6-3 in doubles this season.
"The men played the doubles point tense, but were able to execute at the end," MSU Denver coach
Josh Graetz said. "I think that helped us relax as we moved into singles. The guys played solid today and took care of business."
Heras was also a winner at No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-4) after combining with Ava Neuberger-Higby for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Stienemeier and
Kayla Myburgh won 6-2 at No. 3 doubles, and then Stienemeier was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 4 singles.
"The ladies played solid tennis today, and didn't try to do too much," Graetz said. "I think our experience really showed in a pretty dominant win."
