@MSUDenverWSOC: Boragine Goal Lifts Roadrunners to Clutch Road Victory

Bach makes 10 saves in 13th career shutout

SALT LAKE CITY – Natalie Boragine's goal in the 57th minute put MSU Denver in front, and goalkeeper Kylie Bach and the rest of the Roadrunners' defense kept it that way Friday night in a clutch 1-0 victory at Westminster in women's soccer.

"I'm proud of our team tonight," MSU Denver coach Kat Mertz said. "It was a complete team victory. What a shot and goal by Nat, and a big performance by Kylie and the back line."
Boragine lifted a shot from just outside the 18-yard box over the goalkeeper for her second career goal.

Bach, meanwhile, matched her career high of 10 saves while posting her 13th career shutout.

"We got back to playing Roadrunner soccer and were able to execute the game plan," Mertz said.

MSU Denver improved to 4-4-3 overall and 3-2 for nine points and fourth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while Westminster dropped to 4-4-1 and 2-2 for six points and sixth place.

MSU Denver now travels to Colorado Mesa (9-0, 4-0 and tied for first with 12 points) for a 3 p.m. game Sunday. The Mavericks are ranked No. 4 in Division II.
"There are still items we need to continue to develop, however there are lots of positives to build off," Mertz said.
