DENVER – The MSU Denver Men's Basketball Team rolled to an 88-59 victory over Simon Fraser on Friday afternoon to move to 6-0 on the season.
Caleb McGill led all scorers wit 25 points.
Brayden Maldonado added 18 points and Mario Lacy, Jr. chipped in with 16 points.
KJ Garrett was the only other Roadrunner in double-figures with 10 points.
MSU Denver played a complete game shooting 56.4 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three-point range. The Roadrunners were also outstanding on the defensive end of the floor holding Simon Fraser to 29.5 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from three.
The first half was tightly contested with both teams finding their rhythm. Simon Fraser held a one-point lead after converting on two free throws following the final media timeout of the first half. MSU Denver would then go on a 15-2 run before giving up the final basket of the half and would take a 37-28 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Roadrunners would score 51 points en route to the victory. MSU Denver out-rebounded Simon Fraser 41-22 and would finish the game with 46 points in the paint.
The Roadrunners open conference play on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. against Westminster at the Auraria Event Center.
