@MSUDenverWBB: Roadrunners Earn Senior Night Victory

Galloway, Bailey and Jones honored before team wins for 10th time in 14 games

DENVER – MSU Denver celebrated its women's basketball Senior Night on Saturday with a 60-52 victory over Colorado Christian.

"It's really nice to win on Senior Night, just to honor and celebrate our seniors," MSU Denver coach Tanya Haave said. "These are great role models for our young players. They're great leaders with great character and great work ethic."

After guards Jaiden Galloway and Brianna Bailey, as well as forward Mya Jones, were recognized in a pre-game ceremony before the Roadrunners' final regular-season home game, MSU Denver won for the 10th time in 14 games.

"Tonight was amazing," Galloway said. "I love winning on Senior Night. It was great having everyone celebrate us, and we played really well together."

Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year candidate Kendra Parra, a 5-foot-8 guard, scored 17 points and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds to lead the way. She also added three steals.

Galloway had 10 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Bailey was able to play for the first time since early January and was in the starting lineup.

"It was a blast getting back out there," Bailey said. "I'm grateful to be able to rush the process a little bit and get back out there."

Jones, who missed the first 20 games of the season, also started and contributed six points.

"I love all my teammates that I got to play with," Jones said. "It was emotional and we won, so that's always great."
