SALT LAKE CITY – Riley Anderson had 11 kills and
Maddie Lindsay added nine more Saturday as No. 8 MSU Denver cruised to a 3-0 victory at Westminster, the Roadrunners' league-record 44
th straight regular-season Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory.
MSU Denver (9-3 overall, 4-0 RMAC) won by set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-20, highlighted by a second set in which it led 20-3.
"I thought we executed the scouting report really well offensively and defensively against an opponent that has been playing really well lately and had a good win the last night (over Colorado School of Mines)," MSU Denver coach
Jenny Glenn said. "We knew they would come out with confidence and try to take it to us. We did a good job of staying composed and playing Roadrunner volleyball."
Anderson was credited with a two blocks (one solo) and Lindsay, Mikalya McClinton and
Abbie McCrimmon each had two service aces. McCrimmon had a team-best 15 kids.
Delaney Eckhardt (14) and
Amela Qershia (11) combined for 25 assists while directing the team to a season-best hitting percentage of .330.
Lindsay was playing in her hometown.
Ember Canty hit .571 with five kills in seven swings (one error),
Kryssa Moerman hit .500 with a career highs of four kills in six swings (one error) and two blocks, and Anderson hit .526 with one error among her 17 swings.
"We used our whole roster and whoever was on the floor brought a lot of confidence, excitement and energy," Glenn said.
The Roadrunners play non-conference matches against conference opponents next week, playing at Colorado Christian on Thursday before facing Colorado School of Mines in a match at Colorado Christian on Friday.
