DENVER – Hot-shooting Chadron State went on a third-quarter tear and the MSU Denver women's basketball team was unable to recover Saturday in a 78-63 defeat at the Auraria Event Center.
After shooting 56.0 percent (14 of 25) while taking a 32-29 halftime lead, Chadron State proceeded to shoot 76.5 percent from the field (13 of 17), including 6 of 7 from 3-point range, in a 32-point third quarter, while taking a 64-44 lead into the final frame.
Kylie Krise led the way for the Eagles, making 7 of 8 from 3 while scoring 23 points. For the game Chadron State shot 58.5 percent (31 of 53).
Brooklynn Jones led MSU Denver with 15 points while making 4 of 9 from 3.
Brianna Sealy added 13 points, and
Mikylah Espinosa had 10 points, five assists and three steals.
Chadron State improved to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while MSU Denver dropped to 2-9 and 1-5.
