GOLDEN, Colo. – The second-ranked MSU Denver volleyball team increased its winning streak to seven Friday night with a 3-1 victory at Colorado School of Mines.
The Roadrunners, 13-1, were easy winners in the first two sets, then bounced back from a rough third set to win the fourth easily as well. The final set scores were 25-12, 25-14, 13-25, 25-17.
MSU Denver hit an outstanding .548 in the first set, with just two errors to go with 19 kills in 31 attacks, in posting its second-easiest set victory of the season.
Kryssa Moerman had five kills in five swings and
Riley Anderson joined her with five kills in the opener.
The Roadrunners hit .500 in the second set, when it outscored Mines 17-7 to take a 22-13 lead.
MSU Denver hit .438 in the fourth second and finished the night at .379, its third-best percentage of the season.
Anderson had a team-high 16 kills, and
Maddy Williams was extremely efficient with 15 kills on 19 swings while hitting .684.
Annika Helf added 14 kills while hitting .458. Williams and
Alyssa Boyte each had four blocks.
Delaney Eckhardt set a team-high 29 assists,
Abbie McCrimmon had a team-best 13 digs, and
Autumn Gibbs had both of the Roadrunners' service aces.
MSU Denver is off until Oct. 12, when it plays at New Mexico Highlands.
