@MSUDenverMBB: Roadrunners move up four spots to fourth in regional poll

Men's Basketball goes 2-0 on weekend to improve ranking

INDIANAPOLIS – The men's basketball team is currently ranked tied for fourth in the South Central Region of this week's D2CSC Division II Media Poll.

The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives (two per conference) that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters, two from each region.

The Roadrunners won both of their games this past weekend, which included a 76-56 upset win over 17th-ranked Saint Martin's at home. They also defeated NAIA Northern New Mexico 85-60 to finish out the Thanksgiving Classic in Denver, Colorado.

Head coach Dan Ficke's squad was ranked eighth one week ago in the poll, thus jumping four spots after their 2-0 weekend. MSU Denver is now 5-1 on the season.

West Texas A&M, out of the Lone Star Conference, currently sits atop of the rankings with a 6-0 record, followed by Dallas Baptist, also out of the Lone Star, who is ranked second. At No. 3 is RMAC foe Colorado School of Mines followed by the Lone Star's Midwestern State, who is 5-1 and is tied with MSU Denver for that fourth spot.

The men's basketball team will head out on the road this weekend taking on Fort Lewis on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and then against Adams State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
