Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | by Roadrunners Athletics

@MSUDenverMBB: Shooting woes end Roadrunners six-game winning streak

Caleb McGill led all Roadrunners with 20 points

HAYS, KS – No. 22 Men's Basketball scored a season-low 50 points in their 16-point loss to Fort Hays State on the road.

The loss dropped the Roadrunners record to 9-2 overall while the Tigers win improves their overall record to 7-3.

MSU Denver jumped out to a 13-2 lead thanks to senior forward Caleb McGill, who scored 11 of those 13 points. But the Tigers went on a run in the final five minutes of the half outscoring the Roadrunners 15-0 to take a six-point lead into the break.

The two squads would battle evenly for the first 10 minutes of the second half before sophomore guard Logan Threatt connected on a three-point shot to cut the Roadrunners deficit to within one at 40-39.

But the Tigers would once again finish the half strong with a 26-11 run to finish the game with the 66-50 victory. MSU Denver went 1-for-9 during that run and finished the second half shooting just 28 percent from the field.

McGill led the way for the Roadrunners scoring a team-high 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting.

MSU Denver will head to Kearney, Nebraska and take on the Lopers from Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday at Noon.
