DENVER – MSU Denver fell behind early and wasn't able to recover Monday while dropping the final game of its baseball series against Colorado Mesa 20-5.
The game was stopped after eight innings due to the RMAC's 12-run rule.
Mesa, which won three of four games in the series, jumped out to an 8-1 lead after 2 ½ innings. MSU Denver closed the margin to 8-4 in the bottom of the fifth and had the bases loaded, but Mesa escaped with an inning-ending double play.
Caleb Albaugh had two hits to lead the Roadrunners' offense.
Brayden Brooks turned in a solid 3 2/3-inning long relief effort, allowing one run on one hit.
