AZUSA, Calif. – MSU Denver played nationally-ranked tennis opponents from Azusa Pacific (Calif.) on Friday, with the men falling to their 19
th-ranked opponents 6-1 and the women falling to the 30
th-ranked Cougars 7-0.
MSU Denver's lone point in the men's match came from 33
rd-ranked
Juho Kantola, who was a 6-3, 7-6 winner at No. 1 singles. Kantola and
Marco Jalalian were locked into a tight match with the 16
th-ranked Elias Emilio Walter/Miha Velicki at No. 1 doubles, tied 5-5, when the match was halted as the Cougars clinched the doubles point.
The Roadrunners' women did win a doubles match, as

Lilly Stienemeier were 6-3 victors, but Azusa Pacific won the other two contests to clinch the doubles point.
There was a matchup of nationally-ranked opponents in singles, as APU's 32
nd-ranked Madison Kane defeated 21
st-ranked Hafner 6-2, 6-0.
MSU Denver's teams play Saturday at perennial power Biola (Calif.).
