COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second time this season, MSU Denver forward Mario Lacy, Jr., has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week in men's basketball.
Lacy, who ranks 3rd among all active Division II players in career rebounds, surpassed the 1,000-rebound plateau while posting his 29th career double-double in a Senior Night win over Adams State in the regular-season finale.
He now has 1,003 career rebounds.
Lacy averaged 8.0 rebounds and added one blocked shot and two steals as the Roadrunners played Nos. 2/6 Fort Lewis to a one-possession game in a 94-91 defeat on Friday before getting a 97-90 win over Adams State on Saturday.
Lacy had 15 points, five rebounds and one steal against the Skyhawks, and followed that up with 14 points, 11 rebounds, one block and one steal against the Grizzlies. Against Fort Lewis, he rattled the rim with six dunks.
For the season Lacy ranks second in the RMAC in both rebounds (8.0 per game) and field goal percentage (63.4).
