DENVER – Three-set singles victories by
Hanna Haber,
Courtenay Leonard and Moncia Guarin helped MSU Denver secure a come-from-behind, 5-2 victory Wednesday over Stanislaus State (Calif.) in women's tennis.
The Roadrunners dropped a closely-contested doubles point to fall behind, but then won all but one of the six singles matches.
At No. 6, Guarin came all the way back after dropping the first set to win 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. At No. 5, Leonard had to dig deep for her 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 victory. And, at No. 2, Haber was a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 winner.
MSU Denver also got victories from
Emily Hafner at No. 1 (6-2, 6-2) and
Kambra Roles at No. 4 (6-1, 6-3).
Guarin and Leonard got a victory in doubles, 6-4 at No. 2, but the Roadrunners lost the other two.
MSU Denver is back in action Friday at the Assembly Athletic Complex, playing rival Colorado Mesa.
