Calculation purports to determine league's strongest teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver has finished sixth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's All-Sports Cup, the annual competition that purports to determine the 15-team league's strongest programs.

Schools are awarded points based on their position in the standings and the number of teams that participate in the sport. In addition to the five core sports (men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, women's soccer and football or men's soccer), three "wild-card" sports for both men and women and added to determine the final position in the standings.

Typically, schools with multiple sports programs and/or the strongest cross country/track & field programs, do well in the standings.

MSU Denver won a regular-season RMAC championship and reached the South Central Regional final in volleyball, and just missed out on bids to the NCAA Division II tournament in men's basketball and softball.
