PUEBLO, Colo. – The MSU Denver men's tennis team suffered a third straight 4-3 defeat, and the Roadrunners' women were beaten 5
-2 by a quality opponent on Saturday as the program played Lubbock Christian (Texas) in duals.
In the men's dual,
Alejandro Jimenez and
Lluc Limongi Ollers were winners in super sets at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Limongi Ollers, 5-1, has won in super sets four times, including three days in a row – and he has rallied to win after losing the first set 6-1 two of the last three days. He won Saturday 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
Jimenez won 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) to improved to 3-2.
Hector Cebrian Moral picked up the other MSU Denver victory, 6-2, 7-6 (5) at No. 4.
For the women, Victoria Ricuarte-Cabas was a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9) winner at No. 3, and
Kambra Roles won 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 4.
Ricuarte-Cabas is 4-3, while Roles is 3-3.
Lubbock Christian, 3-0, had lost just one point in its first two duals. MSU Denver dropped to 2-2.
