BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The No. 7 MSU Denver volleyball team completed a 4-0 opening weekend at the Western Washington Invitational on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over San Francisco State.
Annika Helf had 15 kills on .429 hitting and
Maddy Williams had six kills and five blocks (one solo) in the 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 decision.
In winning four matches this weekend, the Roadrunners hit a staggering .353 as a team, with Helf averaging 4.1 kills per set on .418 hitting. She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Joining Helf on the all-tournament team were Williams, outside hitter

Abbie McCrimmon.
On Saturday, MSU Denver hit a sizzling .337 (41 kills, 10 errors, 92 attacks) while holding the Gators to .082 (33-24-110). The Roadrunners also had a 10-3 advantage in total blocks.
Amela Qershia set 16 assists, McCrimmon had 13 digs, and
Autumn Gibbs delivered two service aces for the Roadrunners, who return to Denver to host the rugged Colorado Premier Challenge on Friday and Saturday.
