@MSUDenverVB: Roadrunners Continue Hot Streak with Win over Chadron

CHADRON, Neb. – The no. 12-ranked MSU Denver Roadrunners volleyball team extended its dominant stretch in RMAC play Friday night with a 3-0 sweep over Chadron State at the Chicoine Center. The Roadrunners improved to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in RMAC play, while the Eagles fell to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

The victory marked MSU Denver's fifth consecutive win and sweep, as well as its fourth straight RMAC victory, continuing an impressive run that has seen the Roadrunners dominate on both sides of the ball. MSU Denver hit a blistering .443 as a team, their highest mark of the season, while holding Chadron State to just .148.

Skyler Michael led the Roadrunners with a season-high 12 kills on .571 hitting, continuing her recent hot streak. Alyssa Boyte added nine kills and five total blocks, while Annika Helf and Karyna Werley each tallied eight kills, with Werley also dishing out 22 assists.

Kryssa Moerman was efficient with six kills on .600 hitting, and GabriElle Brewer controlled the offense with 14 assists, four service aces, and six digs.

MSU Denver's front-line defense was once again a difference-maker, racking up 11 team blocks to stifle the Eagles' attack. The Roadrunners rolled through the sets 25-15, 25-19, and 25-11, never trailing in the match.

The Roadrunners look to keep their momentum going on Saturday, as they travel to Denver to face Regis in a key RMAC matchup at 3 p.m. MT.
