@MSUDenverMBB: Roadrunners Secure Win over Nebraska Kearney at Home

DENVER — MSU Denver men's basketball pulled away in the second half to secure an 88–74 win over Nebraska–Kearney on Friday afternoon at the Auraria Events Center, improving to 4–8 overall and 2–2 in RMAC play.

The Roadrunners and Lopers traded momentum throughout the opening 20 minutes, with the game featuring multiple lead changes and ties. MSU Denver leaned on its depth and defensive pressure to build a slim 41–38 halftime advantage, forcing turnovers and converting them into transition opportunities while keeping Nebraska–Kearney within striking distance.

MSU Denver seized control early in the second half. A quick run fueled by efficient shooting and active defense stretched the margin into double figures, and the Roadrunners never looked back. They shot over 53 percent from the field after the break and consistently answered Nebraska–Kearney baskets with timely scoring, pushing the lead as high as 22 points before closing out the win at the free-throw line.

All three of MSU Denver's top scorers finished in double figures, led by Garrett Falls, who poured in a career-high 19 points off the bench. Falls was sharp from beyond the arc, knocking down 3-of-5 three-point attempts for a career best from deep, and provided a spark during the decisive second-half stretch. Logan Threatt added 17 points, while Quave Propst-Allison chipped in 16 to round out the Roadrunners' balanced scoring attack.

MSU Denver also won the rebounding battle and turned defense into offense, scoring efficiently in the paint and off turnovers as it pulled away late. The Roadrunners will look to build on the momentum from the victory after the holiday break when they play again in early January.
