SHAWNEE, Okla – The Roadrunners fell behind 5-0 early and never recovered falling to Oklahoma Baptist 12-2 in the series finale.
The Bison jumped all over starting pitcher
Tyler Child scoring five runs on five hits and two walks in an inning and two-thirds.
MSU Denver got their first run in the fourth inning when
Andrew Graham put a single into right field bringing in
Jesse Velders.
But OBU answered right back with a run in the bottom half of the fourth inning and then with four in the bottom of the fifth.
In that long fifth inning, the Roadrunners hit three batters, threw two wild pitches, walked a batter and gave up two singles that allowed the Bison to go up 10-1.
Andrew Biddle doubled to left center driving in
Royce Vandine for the Roadrunners second run in the ninth inning, but it was far from enough as MSU Denver drops to 1-6 on the season.
The baseball team will have a week off before welcoming in the University of Mary in two weeks for a four-game set at the Assembly Athletic Complex.
