DENVER --- The Roadrunners connected on three home runs to lead the squad to the 8-6 victory against Sioux Falls on Sunday.
The win improved MSU Denver's record to 6-8, while the Cougars fall to 4-8 on the season.
Erubiel Ortiz smacked the first round tripper on the day, hitting a solo shot in the third inning to put the Roadrunners up 2-1. It was his second home run on the season and second in as many days.
Andrew Graham also homered in the third, cranking a three-run shot to right field to put the home team up 5-1. It was Graham's second long ball in 2025 and he finished the day going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
The Cougars would cut MSU Denver's lead to just two before
Easton Amundson went deep in the seventh inning. His solo home run put the Roadrunners up 7-5. Amundson has been stellar so far in the first three games of the series. He has gone 7-for-13 with six runs scored, nine RBI, two doubles and two home runs.
Brad Helton got the start for the Red and Blue and earned the win going five innings, giving up just two earned runs on four hits while striking out five.
Carter Swan earned his first save on the season giving up just one earned run in a full inning of work.
The Roadrunners will finish up their series with the Cougars with game four starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, an hour earlier than scheduled due to weather coming in the afternoon.
