@MSUDenverSB: Pair of Stellar Outings in Circle Propel Roadrunners to Series Sweep

DENVER, Colo. — The MSU Denver Roadrunners completed the four-game series sweep over the Regis Rangers Monday afternoon with another two impressive wins.

The Roadrunners improve 31-9 overall and 26-5 in RMAC play while the Rangers fall to 13-28 overall and 12-20 in conference play.

Alexia Boring and Jaden Geist both hit solo shots in game one, along with a Lexi Geohart RBI double which would be enough offense with Roadrunners ace Natalie Romero providing another masterful performance in the circle.

Romero tossed a complete game shutout while allowing just six hits and striking out four. She goes another weekend with earning two wins and is now 14-3 on the season.

After just two runs total between the two teams after four innings in game two, Boring broke the tie with an RBI single in the fifth to put MSUD up by one.

The Red and Blue broke through for 10 runs in the top half of the sixth. Hannah DiFabio hit a grand slam for the first four runs of the inning and then a Jenna Medhus homer chipped in three more runs for MSU Denver.

Two more RBI hits from Boring and Brooklyn Enny made it a 12-1 game going into the sixth inning where the Roadrunners finished it off.

Cheyenne Prieto tossed a gem for MSU Denver, going the full six innings allowing just one run on four hits. She also struck out five batters. She improved to 9-2 overall on the campaign.

GAME ONE
Jaden Geist kicked off the scoring in this one with a solo shot in the top half of the first.

Lexi Gephart got the second run on the board for the Roadrunners in the fourth with an RBI double to put MSUD up 2-0.

Alexia Boring belted her fourth home run of the series in the fifth frame to go up 3-0.

Natalie Romero ended the game with a complete game shutout for the Roadrunners win.

GAME TWO
The Roadrunners struck first in game two thanks to a throwing error from the Rangers in the top of the first. Regis responded in the bottom half with one run of their own.

After a few scoreless innings from both sides, it was Boring who broke through again with an RBI single up the middle for a 2-1 MSUD lead in the fifth inning.

MSU Denver then exploded for 10 runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a Hannah DiFabio grand slam early in the inning, and a Jenna Medhus three-run homer later in the inning to put the Roadrunners up big.

UP NEXT
The Roadrunners will return home next weekend for a showdown with CSU Pueblo at the Assembly Athletic Complex. The first doubleheader will be Friday beginning at noon MT.
