DURANGO, Colo. — The MSU Denver men's basketball team traveled to face the top-ranked, undefeated team in the RMAC, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks Saturday evening. Despite a hard-fought effort on the road, the Roadrunners fell 101-72, bringing their overall record to 7-13 and 5-7 in RMAC play.
Even with a loss, MSU Denver showed significant resilience, particularly in a high-scoring first half where they kept pace with the league leaders, entering the break trailing 48-40, but the Skyhawks would pull away in the second half, outscoring the Roadrunners 53-32.
Several Roadrunners delivered notable performances against the conference's best:
Logan Threatt: Led the team with a highly efficient 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. He was lethal from beyond the arc, hitting four 3-pointers, and added six rebounds and two assists to his stat line.
Quave Propst-Allison: Orchestrated the offense with a team-high seven assists while adding 11 points. He was also effective from deep, shooting 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and pulled down three rebounds.
Nathan Macadory: Provided a well-rounded spark off the bench, contributing 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 23 minutes of action.
Brian Unachukwu: Anchored the defense as a major presence in the paint, recording a game-high five blocks to go along with five points and five rebounds.
The Roadrunners maintained their competitive fire throughout the contest, shooting 84.6% as a team from the free-throw line and connecting on eleven 3-pointers.
MSU Denver will continue RMAC play next week, as they look to bounce back from tonight's loss.
