This Week in Roadrunners Athletics

DENVER – MSU Denver Athletics enters a busy week highlighted by the final home matches of the regular season for women's volleyball, the season opener for women's basketball and the final contests of the year for both soccer programs.

Women's volleyball will look to keep its momentum rolling as it hosts a pair of RMAC matchups, while women's basketball begins a new era under first-year head coach Mario Caetano. Both soccer teams will wrap up their seasons Wednesday evening on the road at Colorado Christian.

Women's Volleyball
MSU Denver volleyball enters the weekend riding an eight-match winning streak as it prepares for its final two home matches of the regular season. The Roadrunners will host Fort Lewis at 6 p.m. Friday before welcoming Western Colorado at 4 p.m. Saturday.

With four RMAC matches remaining, MSU Denver controls its own destiny in the race for another regular-season conference championship. The Roadrunners will look to take advantage of their final home stand as they continue their push toward the postseason.

Freshman outside hitter Hayden Liebsack enters the weekend coming off a standout performance that earned her RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Liebsack led the team in kills in both victories last weekend, recording 12 in a sweep of UCCS before posting a career-high 21 kills and 16 digs in a four-set win over CSU Pueblo. She has recorded double-digit kills in each of her last seven matches.

The Roadrunners will look to carry that offensive momentum into a pivotal weekend at home.

Women's Basketball
A new era of MSU Denver women's basketball begins Friday as the Roadrunners open the 2026-27 season under first-year head coach Mario Caetano. MSU Denver will travel to Canyon, Texas, for a pair of neutral-site contests hosted by West Texas A&M.

The Roadrunners will face Texas Woman's at 11 a.m. Friday before taking on Angelo State at 11 a.m. Saturday. The two games will provide MSU Denver its first opportunity to compete under Caetano as the team begins its season.

MSU Denver was picked to finish second in the RMAC preseason coaches poll, with junior guard Nevaeh Millard earning a spot on the Preseason All-RMAC team after receiving All-RMAC second-team honors last season. The Roadrunners will look to build on that preseason outlook as they begin their campaign in Texas.

Women's Soccer
MSU Denver women's soccer will close out its season Wednesday evening with a road matchup against Colorado Christian at 5 p.m.

The Roadrunners enter the finale looking to finish the season on a high note after wrapping up their home schedule last weekend with two hard-fought contests. MSU Denver earned a scoreless draw against Fort Lewis on Senior Day, holding the Skyhawks to three shots on goal while goalkeeper Kiley Hyde made three saves.

Head coach Katie Hooker will complete her second season at the helm of the program as the Roadrunners look to close the campaign with a strong performance on the road.

Men's Soccer
Men's soccer also concludes its season Wednesday at Colorado Christian, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Roadrunners enter the finale with a 6-6-4 overall record after being eliminated from RMAC Tournament contention following a 1-1 draw against Colorado Mesa on Sunday. MSU Denver needed a victory to keep its postseason hopes alive but came away with a point in its final home match of the season.

Despite missing the conference tournament, the Roadrunners will have one final opportunity to finish the season with a winning record. MSU Denver will look to close the year on a positive note against the Cougars.
