This Week in Roadrunners Athletics

DENVER — A busy stretch of the fall season continues for MSU Denver Athletics, with five Roadrunner programs in action this weekend. Men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and women's golf will all be competing as conference races heat up and fall seasons begin to wind down.

MEN'S SOCCER
MSU Denver men's soccer enters the weekend with a 5-2-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in RMAC play, currently sitting fourth in the conference standings.

Coming off a strong RMAC road victory last week, the Roadrunners defeated Colorado School of Mines 3-1 and will look to carry that momentum into another two-match road swing.

MSU Denver opens Thursday at South Dakota Mines at 5 p.m. before traveling to face Regis on Sunday at noon.

Two more conference opportunities await the Roadrunners, who will look to continue their climb up the RMAC standings.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
After spending the last two weeks on a four-match road trip, MSU Denver women's soccer returns home for a pair of matches this weekend.

The Roadrunners enter the weekend 2-6-4 overall and 1-4-1 in RMAC play, searching for their first victory since Sept. 24.

A Friday night matchup with Regis at 6 p.m. kicks off the weekend before MSU Denver hosts Black Hills State on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Back-to-back home matches give the Roadrunners an opportunity to get back into the win column while continuing their RMAC schedule.

VOLLEYBALL
Riding a pair of road victories, MSU Denver women's volleyball enters the weekend with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-1 mark in RMAC play.

Currently sitting second in the conference standings, the Roadrunners earned back-to-back road wins over Black Hills State and South Dakota Mines last weekend.

A pair of home matches awaits MSU Denver, beginning Friday against Chadron State at 6 p.m. Regis comes to town Saturday for a 4 p.m. matchup.

Offensively, Brooke Gennerman continues to lead the RMAC in kills with 236 on the season. MSU Denver will look to protect its spot near the top of the conference with another strong weekend at home.

CROSS COUNTRY
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will hit the road Sunday for one of the biggest meets of the season, competing at NCAA Pre-Nationals in Lawrence, Kansas.

MSU Denver's last meet came at home during the Roadrunner Invitational at Washington Park in Denver. A strong field awaits the Roadrunners in Kansas as they continue preparing for the championship portion of their schedule.

Following Pre-Nationals, MSU Denver will compete at the UCCS Open on Oct. 24 before turning its attention to the RMAC Championships two weeks later.

WOMEN'S GOLF
MSU Denver women's golf will close out its fall schedule next week at the Hardrocker Invitational in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Competition begins Monday, Oct. 12, and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Fresh off a third-place finish at the three-day Yellowjacket Invitational in Billings, Montana, the Roadrunners will look to finish their fall slate on a high note. MSU Denver posted a 953 (+89) across three rounds at the Yellowjacket Invitational.

Following the Hardrocker Invitational, the Roadrunners will step away from competition for the winter before returning to the course in March.

From conference matchups at home and on the road to a major cross country meet in Kansas and the final golf tournament of the fall, plenty is on tap for MSU Denver Athletics.

With conference races taking shape across multiple sports, the Roadrunners will look to make the most of another action-packed weekend.
