@MSUDenverWBB: Roadrunners Roll Past Chadron on the Road

CHADRON, Neb. — MSU Denver used a balanced attack and a strong second-half surge to secure a 71-52 RMAC win over Chadron State on Thursday evening, improving to 11-12 overall and 9-6 in conference play.

The Roadrunners were locked in a competitive battle early, with both teams trading baskets through the first half. MSU Denver held a narrow edge at the break, but the separation came in the third quarter. The Roadrunners tightened up defensively and began to control the glass, turning stops into efficient offensive possessions to stretch the lead to double figures.

From there, MSU Denver steadily pulled away, outscoring Chadron State in the second half and maintaining control down the stretch. The Roadrunners' defensive pressure forced key turnovers while their depth and ball movement kept the offense flowing.

Jadyn Watts led the team with 13 points, pacing a well-rounded scoring effort. Mikylah Espinosa added 12 points and a team-high three steals, contributing on both ends of the floor. Brianna Sealy also reached double figures with 10 points, providing another steady offensive option.

Brooklynn Jones knocked down three shots from beyond the arc to finish with nine points and added five rebounds, while Madi Johnson filled the stat sheet with six points, a team-best five assists, and two rebounds. Johnson also connected on a pair of three-pointers.

Inside, Keira Mitchell anchored the paint once again, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds while adding eight points and two blocks. Nevaeh Millard delivered an all-around performance with eight points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Thursday's result marked one of MSU Denver's most complete efforts of the season, with contributions throughout the lineup on both ends of the floor. The nine conference victories are the program's most since the 2022-23 campaign, when the Roadrunners won 13 RMAC games.

MSU Denver will look to carry that momentum into Saturday's matchup at South Dakota Mines as they continue their push in the conference standings.
