@MSUDenverMBB: Red and Blue Snap Four Game Skid with Win over South Dakota Mines

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The MSU Denver men's basketball team put together a complete team effort Saturday afternoon, knocking off South Dakota Mines 77–69 at the King Center to snap a four-game losing streak.

With the win over South Dakota Mines, the Roadrunners improve to 8–16 overall and 6–10 in RMAC play, getting back in the win column behind balanced scoring and a dominant opening half.

MSU Denver set the tone early, racing out to a double-digit lead midway through the first half and controlling the pace on both ends. The Roadrunners used strong ball movement, defensive pressure, and transition scoring to build a 39–26 advantage at the break, creating a cushion they would lean on the rest of the night.

Freshman Daniel Thomason led the way with a career-high 16 points, adding six rebounds and knocking down 2-of-3 from beyond the arc in a highly efficient performance. Brian Unachukwu followed with a season-high 12 points on near-perfect shooting while pulling down five rebounds, providing a steady presence inside.

Ace Hackett delivered an all-around night with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal, while Quave Propst-Allison rounded out the balanced scoring attack with 12 points, a team-high six rebounds, and a game-high five assists.

The second half saw South Dakota Mines make several pushes, cutting the deficit to single digits multiple times, but MSU Denver answered each run with timely baskets and stops. The Roadrunners shot efficiently down the stretch and capitalized at the free-throw line to keep control late.

In total, four Roadrunners scored in double figures, while Caden Holmes chipped in nine points and Logan Threatt added eight. Nine different MSU Denver players registered at least one point in the contest, highlighting the team-first effort that fueled the victory.

Saturday night's win marked a much-needed momentum boost for the Roadrunners as they continue RMAC play heading into the final stretch of the season.
