DENVER — With postseason positioning, conference play and championship preparation all on the line, it's a pivotal weekend ahead for MSU Denver Athletics.

Basketball returns home for crucial RMAC matchups and Senior Day celebrations, softball opens conference action on its home field, and indoor track and field makes its final push toward the RMAC Championships.

The Roadrunners snapped a four-game losing streak this past weekend with a much-needed win over South Dakota Mines, keeping their postseason hopes alive as the regular season winds down.

This week presents a critical stretch at home. MSU Denver hosts CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves on Thursday in a tough conference matchup before welcoming Colorado Christian Cougars on Saturday for Senior Day. With only a handful of games remaining, every contest carries added weight as the Roadrunners look to climb into the RMAC Tournament field.

The week ahead features a pivotal home stand. MSU Denver hosts CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves on Thursday in a crucial matchup, as the ThunderWolves sit just one game behind the Roadrunners in the standings. The team then celebrates Senior Day on Saturday against Colorado Christian Cougars. With postseason positioning on the line, the Roadrunners will look to extend their momentum on their home floor.

The MSU Denver Roadrunners softball has caught fire early in the season, winning four straight games over the past two weekends to improve to 5-3 overall. Most recently, the Roadrunners swept a non-conference doubleheader against Colorado School of Mines Orediggers.

Conference play now begins in earnest as MSU Denver hosts Fort Lewis Skyhawks for its first RMAC series of the season. The four-game set features doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday at home, giving the Roadrunners an opportunity to carry their momentum into league competition.

Indoor Track & Field
Friday 2/20 Colorado Last Chance Qualifier (Boulder, Colo.)
Saturday 2/21 RMAC Last Chance Qualifier (Gunnison, Colo.)

The MSU Denver Roadrunners indoor track and field is gearing up for the stretch run of the indoor season. After a highly successful weekend competing across two meets, the Roadrunners will travel to Boulder on Friday for the Colorado Last Chance Qualifier, and will head to Gunnison on Saturday for the RMAC Last Chance Qualifier for their final tune-up before the RMAC Indoor Championships the following week.

Last weekend was highlighted by Brandon Simpson breaking his own school record in the weight throw, continuing his standout campaign. Kenny Greene also delivered a marquee performance at the GVSU Invite, winning the 200 meters in a field of 70 competitors — a result that earned him MSU Denver Student-Athlete of the Week honors. With conference championships on the horizon, the Roadrunners will look to build on that momentum heading into postseason competition.
