DENVER — MSU Denver closed out its season on a high note Saturday afternoon, pulling away in the second half for a 94-88 victory over Regis University at Regis University Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Roadrunners finish the year 10-19 overall and 8-12 in RMAC play, ending the campaign with one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.
The two teams traded blows throughout the opening 20 minutes, combining to shoot better than 55 percent from the field in the first half. MSU Denver built multiple small leads, but Regis answered each time, resulting in six ties before the break. The teams went into halftime knotted at 52-52.
Junior Ace Hackett was efficient from the outset, attacking the rim and knocking down perimeter shots to keep the Roadrunners in rhythm. Senior Quave Propst Allison orchestrated the offense in his final collegiate game, consistently creating opportunities for teammates.
After Regis briefly grabbed the lead early in the second half, MSU Denver responded with a decisive run fueled by defense and transition offense. The Roadrunners forced 17 turnovers on the afternoon and converted them into 24 points — more than double Regis' 10 points off turnovers.
A stretch midway through the second half proved pivotal. With the game tied at 54-54, MSU Denver rattled off a series of fast-break finishes and inside buckets to build a double-digit cushion. Hackett buried a pair of 3-pointers during the surge, and Brian Unachukwu controlled the paint on both ends.
Regis trimmed the deficit to one possession in the final minutes, but the Roadrunners executed down the stretch. Hackett drilled a clutch 3-pointer with under two minutes remaining to extend the lead, and MSU Denver sealed the game at the free-throw line in the closing seconds.
Hackett delivered a career-high 28 points on a scorching 10-of-14 shooting performance, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 at the free-throw line. He added key rebounds and played with poise late to help close out the victory.
Propst Allison capped his collegiate career with 20 points and a team-high six assists, setting the tone as a facilitator while attacking the paint throughout the afternoon.
Five Roadrunners reached double figures. Amare Bethel stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, providing energy in transition and on the defensive end. Logan Threatt added 12 points, while Daniel Thomason chipped in 10.
Unachukwu anchored the interior, finishing with a team-high seven rebounds and two blocks while adding four points, helping MSU Denver outscore Regis 54-38 in the paint.
The Roadrunners shot 53 percent from the field overall and piled up 23 fast-break points in a strong all-around offensive showing.
In their final outing of the 2025-26 season, MSU Denver combined balanced scoring, defensive pressure and timely shot-making to earn a road win and close the year on a positive note.
