@MSUDenverWBB: Roadrunners Set to Face Adams State in Round One of the RMAC Tournament on Tuesday

DENVER — The MSU Denver Roadrunners women's basketball team is headed back to postseason play.

For the first time since the 2022-23 campaign, the Roadrunners have earned a berth in the RMAC Women's Basketball Tournament and will open tournament action Tuesday night at 6 p.m. as the No. 6 seed against No. 3 seed Adams State Grizzlies in Alamosa.

MSU Denver enters the postseason with a 15-13 overall record and an impressive 13-7 mark in RMAC play, signaling a significant step forward in conference consistency. The Roadrunners have been one of the league's more balanced teams throughout the winter, leaning on defensive pressure and timely perimeter shooting to stack conference wins.

The matchup carries an added edge. Earlier this season, MSU Denver dropped a 77-67 decision at home to Adams State in a game where the Grizzlies capitalized on late runs to pull away. Tuesday presents an opportunity for redemption on a much bigger stage.

The Roadrunners split their final regular-season weekend, building momentum with a home victory over Colorado School of Mines before falling on the road to Regis University in Saturday's regular-season finale. Despite the setback, MSU Denver's body of work over 20 conference games was enough to secure the No. 6 seed and a return trip to the RMAC bracket.

With postseason basketball back in the program and a chance to avenge an earlier loss, the Roadrunners enter Tuesday night motivated and battle-tested. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m., with a trip to the RMAC semifinals on the line.
