2013 academic all-RMAC honor roll 2012 Fall Semester Athletic Director's Honor Roll

2013: Played in four games as a reserve defender ... Metro State outscored its opponents 2-0 in his 30 minutes on the field during the season ... played a season-high 17 minutes against St. Edward's (Texas) on Sept. 13.

2012: Played in 11 games with six starts as a defender ... had team-bests of +20 plus/minus and 0.43 individual goals against average ... attempted three shots ... helped MSU's defense rank 23rd in NCAA Division II with a .450 shutout percentage (nine shutouts in 20 games) and rank fourth in the RMAC in GAA (1.18) and second in shutouts (7) in conference play ... made his first career start on Sept. 8 in a 4-1 win over St. Martin's (Wash.) ... made five starts in October.

High School: 2012 graduate of Gilbert High School ... four-year letterwinner ... coached by Jeff Perry ... named all-state as a senior ... team MVP as a senior ... started 67 games over final three seasons and had five goals and 14 assists in four years ... state qualifier in swimming.

Personal: Born Tyler James Gillaspie on Aug. 16, 1993, in Reno, Nev. ... son of James and Stacie Gillaspie ... has a younger brother, Chase, and a younger sister, Andi ... majoring in adult and exercise science with a minor in biology ... plans to become a physical therapist or chiropractor upon graduation.
