2012 Spring Semester Athletic Director's Honor Roll

2012: Appeared in 28 matches and 96 sets as an outside hitter and defensive specialist ... averaged 1.95 kills and 2.20 digs ... had a .144 hitting percentage and a .939 serve-receive percentage ... totaled 187 kills, 211 digs, 18 service aces and 35 assists ... had 10+ digs 11 times and 10+ kills nine times ... also had eight double-doubles ... had season highs of 16 kills and 19 digs in a win over No. 3 Cal State San Bernardino on Aug. 31 ... had 13 kills and 11 digs against Central Washington on Sept. 1 ... hit .355 with 14 kills and 11 digs in a sweep over Black Hills State on Sept. 15 ... had back-to-back double-doubles on Sept. 25 and Sept. 28 with 12 kills and 11 digs against No. 23 Regis University and 15 kills and 12 digs against UC-Colorado Springs ... connected on 11 kills and had 16 digs against Western New Mexico on Oct. 6 ... had back-to-back double-doubles against on Oct. 12-13 with 12 kills and 10 digs at Western State Colorado and 13 kills and 15 digs at Adams State ... came off the bench to provide eight kills and four digs at top-seed Regis on Nov. 29 at the NCAA tournament.

Before Metro State: Played three seasons at the University of New Mexico as a defensive specialist ... averaged 0.97 digs with 32 total digs in 33 sets played in 2010 ... also had two assists and one service ace ... averaged 1.56 digs with 170 in 109 sets played in 2009 ... had 16 digs in nine sets in 2008 ... two-time Mountain West Conference all-academic and MWC scholar-athlete ... redshirted at Virginia Commonwealth University as a true freshman in 2007.

High School: 2007 graduate of Millennium High School ... first four-year letterwinner at MHS in history ... two-time all-state ... three-time first team all-region and honorable mention as a freshman ... two-time West Valley Region Player of the Year ... three-time team captain ... four-year letterwinner in track & field ... team captain ... region champion in the shot put and discus as a senior ... student body President ... member of the National Honor Society ... honor roll all four years.

Personal: Born Amy Burke Wong on April 18, 1989 ... daughter of Wray and Patricia Wong ... has a younger sister, Kelly ... won a national championship in 2012 in two-man Sportsman Team Challenge (shooting competition) with her sister, Kelly and finished third in three-man with her mother and sister ... enjoys playing quidditch in her spare time ... graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in business administration ... will continue her master’s degree at Metro State in accounting.
