Daniel Medina enters his second season as an assistant coach at Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2022. The longtime Colorado high school coach assists with outfielders, catchers and hitters with the Roadrunners.
In 2021, Medina helped MSU Denver post the best record in program history at 34-10 and narrowly miss the team's first-ever invitation to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Medina was most recently the head coach at Chatfield High School in Littleton, Colo., from 2018 through 2020. In 2018 Medina was named the Class 5A Jeffco Coach of the Year. Medina has also had coaching stints at Abraham Lincoln High School (2005), Jefferson High School (2006-2010, 2015-2016) and Colorado Academy (2010-2014) and Lutheran High School (2014-2015). He has also been involved with the Colorado Khaos Baseball organization, and USA Prime Baseball organization in the summertime. Medina has coached and helped at numerous local summer youth camps and clinics over the years.
Medina pitched collegiately at Arapahoe Community College in 2002 and 2003 and received his associates degree from ACC in 2004.
Medina currently owns and operates Play Ball!, a baseball and softball indoor facility, located in Lakewood, Colo. Medina is a native of Denver and resides in Roxborough Park with his wife, Nicole, and their kids Daniel, Andrew, and Rachel.
