Brian Barringer enters his first season as a student assistant with the Metro State men’s basketball team in 2009-10 after being a 3-year letterwinner in 2005-06 and from 2007-09. He played in 23 games and started three times in his career with the Roadrunners and scored 30 points with 16 rebounds. A redshirt in 2004-05, he was a member of three NCAA Tournament teams and two RMAC championship teams.
At Metro State, he played under current head coach Brannon Hays and former head coach Mike Dunlap, who went on to be an assistant with the Denver Nuggets and was the interim head coach at the University of Arizona last winter. Dunlap is currently an assistant at the University of Oregon.
Barringer is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in human performance and sport. The Thornton, Colo., native graduated from Skyview High School in 2004.
