Elijah Rodriguez joined the Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball staff as a student assistant for the 2018-19 season and is in his third season with the program in 2020-21

A Highlands Ranch, Colo., native, Rodriguez is a 2016 graduate of ThunderRidge High School. He played high school basketball for coach Joe Ortiz and played AAU basketball for Dave Matthews. As a senior, Rodriguez and the Grizzlies reached the Sweet 16 of the Class 5A state tournament and finished 21-4. During his junior season ThunderRidge was 24-4 and was the state runner-up.
