Tyler Amerman

Tyler Amerman joined the MSU Denver program as an assistant coach in August, 2019, and was instrumental in MSU Denver overcoming a slow start to finsh the season on a five-game winning streak, the program's first since 2015. MSU Denver finished 10-7-1 overall and just missed the RMAC Tournament with an 8-5-1 mark in league play.

During the 2019 season, senior Yannick Schad returned to All-RMAC first team status, while senior Danny Bautista made the All-RMAC second team and freshman Jerry Gutierrez earned All-RMAC honorable mention.
 
Amerman came to the Roadrunners from Air Force, where he and MSU Denver coach Hank Lewis were both assistant coaches in 2018, helping the Falcons to the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship as well as a berth in the NCAA Sweet 16.
 
Amerman has also been an assistant coach at Salt Lake (Utah) Community College, Fort Lewis and Charleston (W.V.). During five years as an assistant (he spent two years at Charleston and one season each at Fort Lewis and Salt Lake CC), has been involved with budgeting, equipment, camp marketing and on- and off-campus recruiting.
 
Amerman also has an extensive coaching background in youth soccer as has been director of coaching, program director and academy director in the Colorado Rush, Colorado Rapids, West Virginia Futbol and Forza Futbol club organizations. 
 
He has his NSCAA coaching license and is a USSF licensed coach. 
 
Amerman was a three-year starter as a midfielder and defender at Colorado Mesa from 2007 through 2009 after playing one season at Midland Lutheran (Neb.). The Littleton, Colo., native was a two-year letterwinner at Chatfield High School.
 
He earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado Mesa in kinesiology and sports management and his master's degree in coaching education from Northern Colorado.
