Woo Jeon joined the MSU Denver men's soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach in August, 2021, and was promoted to assistant coach in July, 2022.
In his first full season with the Roadrunners, he helped the team to a 4-0-1 finish in the final five games of the regular season in 2021, as the team qualified for the RMAC Tournament for the first time since 2018. The Roadrunners were 8-9-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the RMAC, good for fifth place.
Prior to MSU Denver, he had spent three years serving as the associate head coach at Black Rock FC Residential Academy at Northwood School in Lake Placid, N.Y., under Jon Moodey. He helped produce eight high school All-Americans while achieving a No. 2 national ranking finish in prep high school boys soccer (Top Drawer) in his first year. He also led the team to a 2019/20 IMG Cup U20 Championship and a semifinal finish in the U19 Dallas Cup.Â
He played collegiately at Kenyon (Ohio) from 2014 through 2017, appearing in four NCAA Division III Tournaments, including two trips to the national quarterfinals and another appearance in the round of 16.
Jeon was on the 2014 U18 Wisconsin State Cup Championship team with the Madison 56ers, and also captained Madison (Wis.) West while helping lead them to a state semifinal appearance his senior year.
