David Kijak joined the MSU Denver coaching staff in January, 2024.
A five-year member of the Roadrunners' tennis program, Kijak compiled career records of 35-28 in singles and 27-27 in doubles. He was a major contributor in doubles during his senior season, earning All-Pacific West Conference second team for his work with partner Juho Kantola. Kijak/Kantola were ranked as high as No. 23 in Division II and spent multiple weeks in the rankings before dropping out of the top 50 in the season-ending list. Kijak/Kantola were ranked ninth in the season-ending West Region rankings. The pair was 8-4 for the season, all at No. 1.Â
In 2021-22, he posted a 9-8 mark in singles, primarily at No. 4 (5-3) and No. 5 (3-1), and he was a first-round singles winner in the main draw at the ITA West Regional on Sept. 30,. In 2019-20, he reached the quarterfinals of the ITA South Central Regionals with three victories.
He was a three-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, a three-time Academic All-PacWest honoree, and earned CSC Academic All-District honors.
He was part of the class of 2018 at  Odyssey Charter School in Las Vegas, class of 2018. He was also 13-2 at No. 1 singles as a junior at Aurora's Overland High School in 2016, finishing second at the Class 5A state tournament.
He graduated from MSU Denver with a degree in criminal justice and is pursuing his master's in cybersecurity.
