Grant Johnson joined the MSU Denver tennis coaching staff in the fall of 2022.
A native of St. Paul, Minn., Johnson competed in USTA tournaments regularly in elementary and middle school, and then competed with his high school team. He has done various forms of coaching with tennis, cross country running, rock climbing, and Nordic skiing.
Johnson's main career is in classical music. He is Executive Director of St. Martin's Chamber Choir, Colorado's only fully professional choir. He is also a freelance violinist and plays regularly with orchestras such as the Fort Collins Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic, Boulder Philharmonic, and Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado. He has worked with many of the country's top orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
Johnson attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Roseville (Minn.) High School in 2014.
