Andrew Ghizzone joined MSU Denver as an assistant coach for track & field in August, 2022.
He works with the Roadrunners' throwers and multi-event athletes.
Prior to joining MSU Denver, Ghizzone had been a volunteer assistant coach at Colorado, his alma mater, since 2018, where he helped coach jumpers and multi-event athletes.
He has also been the gymnastics coordinator and head coach at Boulder Gymnastics since 2016.
At Colorado, Ghizzone became the school record holder in the heptathlon and set seven multi-event school records. He was the heptathlon champion at the 2018 MPSF Indoor Championships and was the decathlon runner-up at the 2018 Pacific 12 Conference Championships. He qualified for five USATF National Championships, finishing fifth in the heptathlon at the 2020 Indoor Nationals.
He was a high school All-American at Union (N.J.) Catholic, where he won state tiles in the pole vault and the 1,600 meters.
He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy at Colorado in 2018.
