2018: Ortiz’s senior season will go down in Roadrunner history as one of the best all around seasons by a Roadrunner player… Ortiz played and started in all 50 games… Ortiz hit .374 with 20 doubles, 2 triples and 4 homeruns... Ortiz also had 43 RBI and 4 stolen bases… Ortiz also fielded .978, which was the top fielding percentage for all second baseman in the RMAC.
2017: Played in and started 51 games as a junior… batted .281 with 45 hits, 17 runs batted in, 11 doubles, a triple and a home run… walked 25 times including 4 hit by pitches, and has 26 strikeouts in 160 at-bats… was fourth on the team in runs scored (35) and fifth in both plate appearances (198) and at-bats (160)… had 10 multi-hit games and including a perfect 3-for-3 outing against UCCS on April 21 finishing with three hits, 2 runs scored, a double and one RBI… had a 2 hit, 3 RBI in a come from behind win against CSU-Pueblo on March 5 including a go ahead two RBI single to take the lead in the 4
