Rachel Maksimowicz joined MSU Denver Athletics as an assistant athletic trainer in April, 2022.
She oversees the Roadrunners’ softball, women's golf and women’s soccer teams.
Maksimowicz had previously been an assistant athletic trainer at CSU-Pueblo since 2020. While overseeing eight sports, she was directly responsible for the care of approximately 110 student-athletes.
Prior to CSU-Pueblo, she was an intern athletic trainer for softball at Kansas, from September of 2018 through July of 2019.
She was also a graduate assistant athletic trainer at UCCS, focusing on women’s lacrosse, from September 2016 through May, 2019. She also provided off season coverage for women’s basketball, baseball, softball and men’s soccer.
Maksimowicz was the head athletic trainer at Weld Central High School in Keenesburg, Colo., from August, 2013, through September, 2016. She was responsible for the prevention, evaluation and treatment of injuries for 200 athletes in 15 sports. The first athletic trainer ever employed by the school, she designed an injury record system, concussion protocol and weather protocol.
She has also been an athletic trainer at U.S.A. figure skating camps.
Maksimowicz earned a master’s of business administration with a health care emphasis, from UCCS in 2018, and a bachelor of science in athletic training with a minor in psychology from Northern Colorado in 2013.
