Bay'lee Purdy, a former Regis star, joined the MSU Denver coaching staff in August, 2020.
In her first season with the Roadrunners, she helped the team finish 12-6 overall and post the third-best winning percentage in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play while going 11-4. She helped oversee the development of guard Kendra Parra into the RMAC's Co-Freshman of the Year.
Purdy had most previously served as an assistant coach and interim head coach at Briar Cliff (Iowa). Her other coaching stop included two seasons as a graduate assistant at Kansas Wesleyan.

At Briar Cliff, Purdy was the program's recruiting coordinator, directed development sessions for both guards and posts, assisted in organizing and leading practices, oversaw scouting, served as head coach of the junior varsity program, and organized team community service projects, fundraising, alumni events, team travel and social media.
Â
Purdy's recruiting efforts helped land the Great Plains Athletic Conference's 2019-20 freshman of the year, while three Chargers earned All-GPAC recognition in 2019-20. The Chargers earned a berth in the rugged GPAC Tournament for 2019 and NAIA Scholar Team recognition. The Chargers ranked fourth in NAIA Division II in steals per game in the 2018-19 season.
Â
At Kansas Wesleyan, her responsibilities included recruiting, directing individual development of the team's guards, serving as head coach of the junior varsity program, overseeing academic study tables, and assisting in organizing and planning practice and scouting, as well as organizing team service projects and directing the team's social media. While she was there, the Coyotes had four players selected to the All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference team, compiled a 35-28 record and earned NAIA Scholar Team and WBCA Academic Honor Roll recognition.
Â
Purdy played three seasons at Regis, twice earning All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team honors (2014-15 and 2015-16) after being selected to the third team as a sophomore in 2013-14. Through the 2019-20 season, she ranked seventh on the Rangers' all-time scoring list with 1,257 points, while her career average of 15.0 points per game ranked sixth among those who played at least 40 games for Regis. Purdy ranked second at Regis with 230 career made 3-pointers and was the program's all-time leader in free throw percentage at 88.1 (177 of 201).
Â
She was the Big Sky Conference Preseason Freshman of the Year in 2012-13 while at Division I Northern Colorado.

Purdy played her high school basketball for Deer Trail High School, and was named Colorado's Class 1A Ms. Basketball by the Denver Post after averaging a state-leading 33.2 points per game as well as 6.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 5.8 steals per game as a senior. She scored 1,833 points in three seasons and was a three-time all-state first team selection.
