Harper Sheets joined the MSU Denver women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant in June, 2023.
 
Sheets had spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Kansas Wesleyan of the NAIA, working with the Coyotes’ guards and posts while specializing in the player development of the posts. In two seasons with the program, Sheets helped the Coyotes to an overall record of 40-21, including 32-18 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
She was also the team’s strength and conditioning coach and head coach of the junior varsity program, and in addition to providing in-season scouting reports and conducting film review, Sheets was also in charge of the team’s social media platforms. She was also the residence director at Pfeiffer Hall.
 
Other basketball coaching experience for Sheets includes one year as a graduate assistant at Texas-El Paso for the 2019-20 season, where she charted practices and games, created scouting reports and assisted with social media, trip itineraries and the budget.
 
Sheets has also been a private basketball coach in Greeley, Colo., since 2013.
 
As a player, Sheets was at Nebraska-Kearney for the 2015-16 season, then played three seasons at NAIA power Hastings (Neb.), helping the Broncos to two national semifinals and another trip to the national quarterfinals from 2016-17 through 2018-19.
 
She graduated from Hastings in 2019 with a double major in human resources and business administration, and earned her master’s degree in sports leadership studies from UTEP in 2021.
 
Sheets is a graduate of Greeley West High School, where she averaged 16.8 points and 6.2 rebounds as a senior.
