Lappe's comments: "Jessie will add a lot as a student assistant and we are happy to have her be a part of this team, even though unfortunate injuries will keep her from playing. She is extremely bright and will be a great asset to our staff and team."


Jessie Jones will begin her first season as a student assistant coach with the Metro State women's basketball team in 2009-10.  Jones played in six games as a freshman in 2008-09, before suffering a season-ending injury.  She averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.

A 2008 graduate of Silver Creek High School in Longmont, Jones is working on her bachelor's degree in sports medicine.
