Jezzal Quintana joins Metro State's women's basketball staff in 2011-12 after spending two years as a graduate assistant at Angelo State University in Texas. She helped the Rambelles go 17-10 in 2010-11 after a 12-14 season in her first season. Quintana also served as a coach at Tahlequah Sequoyah High School in 2008-09.
A 2008 graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., she was a standout on the RiverHawks basketball team, earning all-conference both years at NSU. Quintana earned her bachelor's degree in health and human performance with a minor in Spanish. She also played two years at Reedley College in California.
Quintana is a native of Fresno, Calif., and graduated from Sanger High School in 2004. She plans on finishing her master's degree in sports administration in Dec. 2011.
