Andrew Current begins his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Roadrunners in 2013. Metro State has reached the NCAA tournament in each of his five seasons, while winning a pair of RMAC regular season titles.

Current works primarily with the goalkeepers.
In 2012, he helped the Roadrunners go 15-6-2, including 9-3-2 in the RMAC. MSU Denver reached the NCAA tournament for the 11th year in a row, winning two road games to reach the regional championship game. Senior goalkeeper Jordan Simkins, who had never previously started a game in her career, started all 23 games under Current's guidance and posted a 0.90 GAA and .786 save percentage. Simkins had eight solo shutouts and combined on two others.
Current helped guide a young squad to a 12-7-1 record in 2011, including 8-5-1 in the RMAC and the program's 10th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. For the second straight season, Metro State had a new goalkeeper. Transfer Danielle Quigley took over the net, helping the Roadrunners rank sixth in the conference in goals against average and fifth in shutout percentage. Quigley led a field that featured just one senior starter.
In 2010, despite eight players missing two or more games with injuries, Current's goalkeepers were among the best in the nation and conference. The Roadrunners led the RMAC in shutouts in conference games and ranked 22nd nationally in shutout percentage. Metro State was also third in the RMAC in goals against average and second in save percentage, ranking 24th nationally in both categories. Sarah Tanous made several saves on penalty kicks during shootouts in the Central Region yournament's semifinals and finals.
Metro State and Current's goalkeepers dominated in 2009 with a record of 21-1-2, including a perfect 16-0-0 conference finish. Becca Maloney was remarkable in goal again with a 0.49 goals against average and .854 save percentage. Maloney and teammate Alee Seehausen combined for 12 shutouts during the year, leading Metro State to another regular season conference championship and the NCAA tournament.
In his first season in 2008, the Roadrunners won their seventh consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championship and made their seventh consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, going as far as the national semifinals. They also won the RMAC tournament and had an overall record of 20-2-3, including 11-0-2 in the conference. Goalkeeper Maloney led all of Division II in save percentage, posting a school record .927 mark. She also totaled 15 shutouts.
Current is very active as a youth coach in the Denver area. In addition to his duties at Metro State, Current is the Director of Goalkeeping for the Boulder County Force. In addition, he is the Assistant DOC for Core Goalkeeping Academy, providing goalkeeping-specific training to youth of all ages. He coordinates academics year-round for over 250 goalkeepers in Colorado.
Other coaching experience has included four years with Real Colorado, where he coordinated youth camps and coached Olympico team and goalkeepers. In 2008, he served as the goalkeeper coach at Valor High School.
Current, who plays in the Colorado Amateur Soccer League and for the Fort Collins Fury of the Premier Arena Soccer League, has his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Level II goalkeeper dipolma and holds a USSF D License.
Current played three seasons at NAIA member William Jewell College, where he was named most inspirational and hardest working. He graduated from Metro State in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in finance. Current resides in Denver with his wife, Jennifer. The couple has three children, Luc, Van and Gia.
